• Research on the experiences of tsunami affected women was conducted in 2006. Interviews were conducted with women in Ampara, Batticaloa, Galle, Hambantota, Matara and Trincomalee. The report will be published in September 2007.
• Livelihood disbursement to tsunami affected women, particularly vulnerable groups such as widows. A series of Sinhala and Tamil television programmes on the issues faced by Tsunami affected women were telecast on Channel Eye and TNL in July 2005. Topics discussed included female participation on decision making, right to land, domestic violence and violence against women, livelihood, and conflict, peace and the tsunami.
