Action Network for Migrant Workers (ACTFORM), Kandy District Committee together with Women and Media Collective (WMC) held several meetings to carry out the activities of the National Action Plan that will address issues faced by migrant workers while also informing migrant officials on the importance of safeguarding the rights of migrants.

The meeting saw community leaders, Sunday school teachers, government representatives and leaders of women and youth groups discussing the conditions of women working abroad. Various campaigns and training programmes for migrant women will be organised to improve the migrant situation and create further awareness especially among government officials. Two meetings have been held so far in Kandy.
