A training programme for the newly elected female local councilors was held in Nuwaraeliya in April. This is a certificate programme on social inclusion and gender sensitive policy making. The training was organized by the Women and Media Collective together with Women’s Solidarity Front in Kandy.

WMC organized a panel discussion with Dr. Jayadeva Uyangoda, Dr. Harini Amarasuriya, Prof. Chandraguptha Thenuwara and Ermiza Tegal on the 3rd of April in Colombo. The meeting was to discuss the present and future political context with the announcement of the upcoming presidential elections.
