‘Veediye Virodaya’ protest

A large gathering attended the Veediye Virodaya movement protest also known as the Black Protest at the Colombo Fort railway station on the 10th of July 2015. Some of the demands made at the protest were for clean politics and good governance. Several women leaders from civil society organisations that spoke at the protest highlighted the need for more women in Sri Lanka’s political sphere.
