Member organizations of Mothers and Daughters of Lanka (MDL) from all over the country, including WMC, organized a protest march and demonstration on the 8th of March 2012, in front of the Fort Railway Station. It focused on the challenges faced by women in the current climate of increasing cost of living and inflation.

The aim of producing 100 Sinhala radio clips which profile 100 Sri Lankan women selected from different fields has been deliberated. 20 clips have been recorded so far, each clip which is 4 minutes long has been broadcast from January 2012. ACTFORM was one of the organizers of the joint programme on “Commemoration of the International Day of Migrants – 12 in 12 joint campaign for rights and protection of domestic workers”. It was held on the 18th of December, 2011.
WMC attended the event organized by MDL in celebration of International Human Rights Day 2011.

Women’s Perspectives Reflected in Selected Mainstream / Alternative Media A survey was conducted after airing the clips on the 1325 UN resolution. Though there were a few listeners that recognized the topics of the radio clips the majority had not heard of Resolution 1325 before.
