The course was founded in 1984. Thus far, 24 editions have been held <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">through which more than 780 women activists and gender trainers, women\u2019s studies <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">teachers, journalists, lawyers, police officers, media women, and others have improved their\u00a0 \u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">conceptual capacities and sharpened\/developed feminist perspectives. Many of these women are now in senior positions in various organizations and institutions,\u00a0 and several are conducting similar gender workshops and women\u2019s studies courses in their own countries.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">These courses <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">seek to unpack and understand the lived experiences of people navigating\u00a0 the world as women, and to build solidarity between them.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>The courses have been designed for women from South Asia (Afghanistan,\u00a0 Bangladesh, Bhutan, India, Nepal, Maldives, Pakistan, and Sri Lanka). <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In some years\u00a0 participants from Indonesia, Ghana, Sudan, Turkey, Myanmar, Vietnam, Palestine, and\u00a0 Iran have also attended, leading to effective networking amongst participants<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>The Courses will commence on the 25th of August to the 23rd of September 2023 at the Tewa Center, Kathmandu, Nepal.<\/p>\n<p>For the application process, please refer to the following Document.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/womenandmedia.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/04\/SANGAT-25th-Month-Long-Feminist-Capacity-Building-Course-2023-Call-for-applicants.pdf\">SANGAT 25th Month Long Feminist Capacity Building Course 2023-Call for applicants<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The South Asian Feminist Capacity Building Course on Gender, Sustainable Livelihoods, Human Rights and Peace, also known as the Sangat Month Long Course, is designed to offer clarity on and a greater understanding of concepts related to gender, justice, poverty, sustainable development, peace, democracy, and human rights.
