The objective of this workshop was to strengthen the trade union members\u2019 skills in engaging with media and to provide a practical training on presenting their issues. A total of 35 participants participated at this training workshop.<\/p>\n<p>Workshop components were as follows.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Introduction to media and communication<\/li>\n<li>Writing press releases.<\/li>\n<li>Methods and tools for media engagement.<\/li>\n<li>Practical Sessions on One to One Interviews and TV talk shows<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>A residential training programme for the trade union women on engaging with the media was held on the 26th and 27th of October 2013 in Colombo.
