A feminist film festival was held on March 26th, 27th and 28th 2007 at the Russian Cultural Centre to celebrate the International Women’s day. Films screened were Earth directed by Deepa Mehtha, Calendar Girls directed by Nigel Cole, and Rosentrasse directed by Margarethe Vontrotta.\u00a0After every film screening there were discussions on the film facilitated by Prof. Neloufer de Mel and a film reviewer Piyal Kariyawasam. The audience was interested in the discussion and requested that there be more film screenings at least once a month followed by a discussion.<\/p>\n
