ACTFORM National Action Plan for migrant workers

ACTFORM National Action Plan for migrant workers

In a bid to ensure that the rights and well being of women migrant workers are protected Action Network for Migrant Workers (ACTFORM) and Women and Media Collective (WMC) are taking steadfast measures to improve the conditions for all migrants. Drawn up by women’s rights groups from five districts in Sri Lanka the National Action Plan will raise the bar for better working conditions. The plan is being implemented with the support of Women’s Resource Centre, the Dirisaviya Women’s Organisation and the five District Committees of Kandy, Kurunegala, Gampaha, Kegalle and Chilaw that were formed for this purpose. It proceeded with two members of each committee meeting on the 23 of June 2013 to identify the activities of the NAP followed by meetings which were conducted in each District.

The following meetings were held in each district:

Kandy District Committee meetings

Kegalle District Committee meetings

Kurunegala District Committee meetings

Gampaha District Committee meetings

Chilaw District Committee meetings
