On Friday the 18th of September members of Women and Media Collective were part of thousands that joined in protests demanding justice for the victims of sexual violence and murder across the island.
Over the past few months there have been a number of incidents of violence against women and children that are alarming the people of Sri Lanka. One such incident was the abduction, rape and murder of five year old girl Seya Sadevmi. This protest was organised by Mothers and Daughters of Lanka opposite the Fort railway station in Colombo.
