ACTFORM Training of Trainers Manual

A rights based training manual was developed by the Action Network for Migrant Workers (ACTFORM) in consultation with the training department of the Sri Lanka Bureau of Foreign Employment (SLBFE). Currently the SLBFE has 19 training centres and trainers from each department were brought in for the training of trainer’s (TOT) programme.

The TOT manual, in the Sinhala language, includes a description of the international labour laws and the laws by which authorities should observe to protect the rights of women workers pre and post migration.  There were 50 women trainers who attended the meeting which was held on the 9th of April 2016 and the manual was handed to each of them. Viola Perera, Coordinator of ACTFORM highlighted the purpose of the manual and how it is crafted to promote the rights of women. The training manual was written with the support of Mangala Randeniya the General Manager of the SLBFE.
