Sharing experiences – 2011 Local Government Elections

WMC, in partnership with five other women’s organizations, carried out a project to increase nominations for women candidates at the 2011 local government elections. We are now organizing a discussion in order to share the experiences from this project with political party leaders.

Joining this discussion are a host of Ministers and Members of Parliament including Minister Tissa Karaliyadda, Deputy Speaker Chandima Weerakkody, Opposition Leader Ranil Wickremasinghe, Minister Dinesh Gunawardena, M. Nizam Kariappa MP, Dayasiri Jayasekera MP, Suresh Premachandran MP, Rosy Senanayake MP and Ashoka Lankathilaka MP.

The discussion will be held on Friday the 22nd of June 2012, from 9.00 am to 1.30 pm, at the Cinnamon Grand Hotel.
