A training on gender equality and social inclusion policy making for newly elected local council women in the Badulla District was held online on the 21st & 22nd of November. These women local councilors were elected under the recently introduced, 25% quota for women, a law part of the Local Authorities Amendment act which was enacted in 2018.

There were about 20 women local councilors who attended the training. The training was organized by the Women’s Development Center in Badulla and supported by the Women and Media Collective.
