About ACTFORM

The Action Network for Migrant Workers (ACTFORM) focuses on promoting the rights of Sri Lankan migrant workers. ACTFORM was established in January 2000 as a result of many discussions among groups and organizations working on this issue in Sri Lanka. ACTFORM attempts to act as a link between organizations, agencies, media groups and personnel to raise awareness on the rights of migrant workers, paying special attention to the gendered needs of migrant workers.

The network members of ACTFORM engage in a variety of activities which includes collecting and disseminating information on migrant worker issues; monitoring the implementation of relevant state policies; advocacy work on policy reform; providing of counseling and outreach programs to migrant workers; conducting research; and providing legal assistance.

ACTFORM is a network member of the Migrant Forum in Asia, the Asian Migrant Centre, and Migrant Rights International.
