The WMC with support from OXFAM Sri Lanka and the We Can Campaign displayed billboards in eight locations island-wide (except in the North), for a period of three months, beginning in May 2007. Sinhala language billboards were displayed inKandy, Hambantota,Anuradhapura, and Welisara, and Tamil language billboards in Trincomalee, Puttalam, Batticaloa and Hatton.
The Annual National Convention for Women Activists 2006 was held in January 2007. A series of Sinhala and Tamil television programmes on the issues faced by Tsunami affected women were telecast on Channel Eye and TNL in July 2005. Topics discussed included female participation on decision making, right to land, domestic violence and violence against women, livelihood, and conflict, peace and the tsunami.
